At Skillcraft Institute, our mission is to provide resources, education, and opportunities for under-served youth seeking creative, fulfilling, and sustainable careers in Portland.

Our programming fills a need laid out in Advance Portland: the city’s 5-year strategy for revitalization. Read our proposal here.

Our vision is a world where everyone transitioning to adulthood has a community of support without the possibility of falling through the social safety net.  Healthy communities foster resilient individuals as long as we have ways for them to stay connected.

Skillcraft Institute seeks to reinforce the cycle between healthy communities and resilient individuals.

Our theory of change is that by providing a healthy community environment for engaging with possible creative careers, students will not only see a vision of their future but a path to get there.

Our initiative supports the most vulnerable populations in our community’s care.

Our goal at Skillcraft Institute is to keep young people engaged in directed learning to promote resiliency and a lifetime of flourishing.

Build. Community
